Goodreads asked Helene Larsen:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Helene Larsen Don't criticize the food before it is done.
Writing is a process like anything else, as ex. cooking. The first text we place on the paper is like raw meat and we have to work with it to make it tastier and find the other ingredients. So first just write it all down in any order, and then keep working on your text and make your own steps of your process, we all work in our own pace and manner. Ex. 1: Raw Text - 2: Chapters - 3: Subtitles - 4: Cut/Paste/Ad text - 5: Sentences - 6: Punctuation 7: Layout... aso.
Editing your text is like being a detective looking for your mistakes. Print it and read it out loud and correct it as many times it needs, we all make 1000 of small mistakes in a long text and we just work with it until it feel right and there's nothing more to add or correct.
