omg i know right?! she's had sooo many years, both the time and resources to do so.. yet all she's done was sit around waiting for tomasz to find her in america and oh ya send letters to emilia at a pre-war address (eye roll).
she could have at least hired an investigator, plus, emilia's family didn't seem that hard to find bc they still live in the same hometown and alice was able to find them in only like 3/4 days
also, i get that saul doesn't want to talk about the war but like why didn't he at least return to poland to visit his wife and baby's grave bc he knows exactly where they were buried

Teresa
The assumption was her parents were dead. While this wouldn't have stopped her from trying, the translator/tour guide indicated that records from wartime Poland were sketchy. As far as Emilia she did try to write, but never received a reply. She may have assumed that Emilia had died.
