Goodreads asked Stacy Travis:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Stacy Travis When I'm blocked, I start writing a journal entry. I try not to self-edit as I go and I let everything flow onto the page. When I'm writing about personal stuff and figuring out how I feel through writing, I usually get the flow back. I find that writing--about anything--jump starts my writing muscle and gets me closer to being able to write what I need. I also cut myself some slack in those moments. Sometimes, I'm just blocked, and even the five pages I've forced myself to write are awful and need to be thrown out. That's okay. As long as I'm putting words on the page, I know I'll get unblocked eventually, and I'll be ready at my keyboard to take advantage immediately.
