Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Daniel Terelmes My best friend died in 2000. His sister, who is about nine years younger than he was, asked me to tell her about him since she never really got to know him. I had some of these "stories" written down so as not to forget our exploits. So I told her I would write a bunch of Tommy Stories and send them to her so that she can learn more about him from my point of view. We hung out together constantly in high school, went into the Navy together, and hung out a great deal when we both got out of the Navy.

Everyone I told these to thought they were fascinating, and they said that they liked the way I told stories, so I decided to try to capture that in a book since self-publishing was now available.
