I’m confused about the warrior ranks. In Outcaste you say that Rahel as First Guard outranks Ronlin as Lead Guard (during Rahel’s oath ceremony). Does that mean she’s actually in charge of Salomen’s team when she’s on Alsea? Does she also outrank Vellmar?

Rahel does indeed outrank Vellmar, who is a Lead Guard like Ronlin. She would not be in charge of Salomen's team when she's on Alsea for a couple of reasons: first, it's not her duty post and she doesn't have the day-to-day experience. Second, when she's on Alsea, she's on leave from her own duties -- it would be like being required to work a second job every time you get a weekend from your first.

Doing a re-read of the series and just wondered, was the six point bond and Salomen/Lhyn’s tyree bond always going to manifest or was it created by the one on one sharing they undertook in Uprising? I can’t see anywhere where Tal shares only with Lhyn or Salomen only with Ekatya. Is that why they don’t have the deeper bonds or would they not be tyrees even if they did share like that?
