Where do you find your inspiration for the main characters in your novels?

Chevy Stevens Annie was loosely based on me, then she became her own person. Sara was from my imagination, though we share some similarities. Nadine is who I might be in an alternate life. Toni is also someone I might be in an alternate life. The characters in THOSE GIRLS were all from my imagination. I think a lot of ourselves leaks into our characters but they definitely become their own people.
