What is the difference. I am Canadian and am caught between two spelling variations. How do the English spell realize?

Fiona Taylor I'm Australian and we use the English spelling "realise". If a word ends in "ize" we are more than likely to spell it "ise", eg: organise/organize, recognise/recognize, etc.
