Yeah, I have the same question. While I really enjoyed many of these stories, the school bus thing didn’t land for me. The last chapter confused me more than it added clarity.

It's complicated. There's eventually like a chapter saying all the stuff that a bus is, and throughout the book different characters say something to the effect of "a school bus falling from the sky," and in the end it all kind of weaves itself back together until you're like, "ah, I get it." kinda. I guess it's kind of symbolic, or at least like a picture in your mind. And yeah, a kid does think that's make some great action in a story.
