Goodreads asked P.A. Lopez:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

P.A. Lopez Ha! For me the trick is not to get discouraged. I just try and step back and "find the fun." When I get stuck, it's usually because I've gotten too tied to a concept or idea that isn't working. So rather than get stressed (about the fact I may have to go in a different direction or even dump what I have!), I try and find something new and fun. And sometimes I have to relax and WAIT for the fun: just let it simmer in the background. Most of the time, some new idea comes, and I either go in that new direction, or I'm able to combine it with my "stuck" idea to create a new, more fun version of what I have. I figure if it isn't fun to write, it won't be fun to read. So I try not to worry and just "look for the fun," and — most importantly — HAVE fun!
