What was one thing running through your head when you were writing the book heroine?

Mindy McGinnis Mostly I knew that I had to get this right... if that makes sense. I needed to know what I was talking about and be respectful of the addiction experience, and knowledgeable enough to tell the story without glamorizing it.

I was watching a show called Alone: The Arctic and the whole time I was thinking about Be Not Far From Me. I was wondering, what inspired you to write it??? It was so amazing, one of my favorites.
