hmmm, I am not sure I believe in basic ideas for a book- unless you see them as the doors to the story? Once you walk through, they often reveal themselves to be quite different from what you thought. As for what inspired me- everything I see, hear, taste, touch....the world is made from stories

I saw Inkheart's movie and I knew right away that I needed to read that book. Of course, I fell in love with Inkspell and I still have to read Inkdeath. I just want to know how did you get that amazing idea? People who can read and take characters out of books! It's so simple and so perfect and you don't know how badly I've been wishing to do that my whole life!

Hi Cornelia! I am a huge fan of your books and I am also an aspiring author. I was hoping you might have some advice for me about sticking to writing. How many words would you recommend trying to write in a day? I also have so many ideas, but I jump around and never finish. I have finally chosen one to see through first, but now I am having trouble finishing my plot and just writing in general. Any advice?
