After reading this book, I know I need to begin taking Estrogen right away. My question is about Progesterone. Is it considered necessary for me to take that also if I still have a uterus? I know what most doctors would say, but it wasn't clear to me what the author's conclusion was.

If you have a uterus, you must take a progestin or progesterone alongside oestrogen. If you still have periods you take the progestin for 2 weeks of every month. If you no longer have periods because you are menopausal, you take the progestogen every day.

(p. 6) Taking an accompanying progestin/progesterone will ensure no increased risk of getting endometrial cancer. (p. 208-209) No increased risk of breast cancer for micronized bioidentical progesterone, 2% increased risk for progestins but he's not convinced of this number.
