Am I the only one disappointed in the Starz Series?

But they have made Frank, Claire's love of her life, not that she didn't have a loyalty to him, but way over the top. The marriage was strained. Jamie is coming across as this besotted little boy. Not at all the strong, domineering, shrewd, astute character in the book we all fell in love with. He's basically a BA Highlander, and they have made him out to be a sensitive man of the 80's. Claire is an uppity b - not the snarky, quick witted and ironical. They show Claire and Jamie sitting around holding hands. She's in complete control of him. The scene where she falls into the river and is pulled out by a red coat was totally changed. In the show, Jamie tells her to stay, but more like asked. In the book he tells her she stays put, or he'll tie her to a tree, her choice.
The show they changed the scene of what "Poor Frank" is doing back in current time. Over and over. He ends up at the stone, calling out for her. She left the spot where she was told to stay and runs to the stones. She hears Frank, and calls back desperately. Right before she touches them, red coats catch her. Then she's back in Randall's hands. The whole story to me is Jamie and her. This whole show so far is about her and Frank. Other stuff is off too. I have been re-reading along, and it just couldn't be more off. Especially the portrayal of Jamie. It's really disappointing. No way will he be able to pull off the scene when he takes the strap to her for disobeying him. K- thanks for letting me rant. It's my favorite book of all time and they are ruining it.(less)
