She is in the third chapter, Corrine's introduction, as the bartender. She also babysits for another character later in the story. She's certainly mentioned, but she more or less represents a new, young version of up-and-coming women who Take No Shit.

Thanks for your answers. If I'd been reading on Kindle, I'd have had an excuse for not flipping back to find her (although then I could have "searched" her). I should learn to read books all the way through at one sitting when there are alternating narrators and timelines, so I can keep the story straight in my head.

I thought Karla lost her job early in the book, then she still has a job until she willfully leaves it near the end of the book. What did I miss?
