Prolific author, MC Beaton gave me a piece of advice. She said whenever you feel as if you have writer's block, think of your bank account sitting in the red. If that doesn't help, write about the weather, the trees outside your window, your cat, whatever gets you writing. When I feel a bit uninspired or my characters are taking the day off, I write short stories featuring anthropomorphic animals.
