They likely gave her characters and tropes and "clues" that needed to be included in this project, and the deal would have probably taken place before One Of Us Is Lying even came out. Publishing is slow. And accusing someone of plagiarism for using a common genre trope (locked house murder, in this case), is lazy. (less)
