I've lived in Sasebo, Nagasaki for 15 years and am currently reading Fletcher and the Samurai. I know Hito Island is a fictional place but feel that it's based upon one of the islands near me. Is there a particular island?

Thanks for reading the book and I hope that you like it. As regards Hito Island ... Fictional? Fictional??????! I must remind you that in writing my Fletcher books I am merely reporting the authentic memoirs of Sir Jacob Fletcher so it's all true, strike me down if it ain't and trust me Guv, cos every word is shiny bright. I bought Fletchers fortune by pure chance over 20 yrs ago in early 1990s; softback, slightly promoted (as they do with dozens of books) on one of the many prominent tables dotted around in a book shop. I read it, loved it; I immediately bought 1st June (loved it too). In goodreads, Fletchers Fortune has a published year of 2015. All very confusing, misleading - it is the exact same book though? You are JC Edwards? Thx
