It might be a reference to the bible, “remember the serpent disguised as a dove”. Maybe Lou is a serpent disguised as a dove? Maybe all the witches? I don’t know.

Well im just over halfway and i think that 'serpent' and 'dove' are meant to represent Lou and Reid. Like Lou is a serpent cuz shes a witch or maybe because she's 'bad tounged' and reid is the dove cuz yk... freaking germaphobe (no shade) and does are like white and pure in stuff. but it could also represent (the dove) Lou because i remember a scene during the Christmas putting between the two that she bought a while coat thing i dunno really up to the reader
