Nancy asked S.L. Stoner:

I've been keeping an eye out for your next book. Any chance it will released soon? I'm also curious about whether you collect Portland/Oregon historical documents, e.g. photographs, old maps, or have a resource at a library or historical society you turn to?

S.L. Stoner Hi Nancy! Sorry for the delay. I was out of the country and away from the internet for a while. The next book is Bitter Cry and it will go on sale November 15, 2019. As for where I get the historical facts, that varies with every book. At this point, I have a pretty extensive library with an emphasis on contemporaneous writings. Of course, the historical society, city archives, state archives and public library have all provided info. The University of Oregon Historical Newspaper database is wonderful. But, sometimes, I have to go farther afield. For The Mangle I went to the Marylhurst historical library. For Land Sharks, I went to the San Francisco maritime library, for Dead Line, I spent a lot of time in the Prineville historical society library, and for Black Drop, I visited the US Congressional Library in D.C. and the Mt. Angel monastery library. The one I am researching now should take me to even more interesting places. It's always an adventure. Thank you so much for interest and support. It is greatly appreciated!
