Irena asked:

I am confused about Leon. Author mentioned his dark brown skin but then implies he is Irish. Is Leon black?

Aesha I think it’s fairly clear he’s a person of color... but regardless, of course being Black and being Irish aren’t mutually exclusive.
Tanya Winanto Definitely a person of colour (either black, brown, or mixed). I personally think that he's British Indian as I couldn't stop picturing Dev Patel as Leon...
Joey Hi Irene - I think Leon is either black, brown or mixed race. As Aesha said before, that wouldn't stop him from being Irish. In the scene where the pictures of him as a 'model' are published in the Daily Mail, Tiffy mentions that there are racist comments underneath. I was a little confused, because him being described as 'light brown' didn't immediately lead me to think he was a person of colour. (I'm 'brown' myself, being a Brit of Indian origin).
Jennifer Mention in court that brother’s last name is Toumi (listening to audiobook but that is my guess to spelling). Soccer player from Tunisia with that last name.
Shahira8826 You can be Black *and* Irish.
Leon is described as having dark brown skin, dark eyes, and curly black hair.
His modeling photos on the internet receive racist comments.
He remarks how his brother is not being judged fairly because the judges are all middle-aged *white* men.
How can you still be confused about whether he's Black or not? I'd say the author makes it abundantly clear.
Anna I think he's mixed race - I would assume half-Black because of how many times the author mentioned his curly hair. He could just have curly hair but it felt rather pointed to me.
Sarita I was actually picturing Leon tanned like athletes who spend a lot of time in the sun.
Nora Definitely tan judging by the book cover.
