I know there are little connections between your books, which makes me wonder about the significance of 1184. I've spotted it in The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley, At The Edge of the Universe, and then in Violent Ends when I read it last night. Is there actually any significance there, or is it just a number you like to use? I've been wondering since I saw it in the first 2 and now I need to know!

Good catch! It's actually someone's birthday. Most of the numbers I use are birthdays or other numbers special to me. The number 33 often crops up because 33 is my favorite episode of Battlestar Galactica.

What advice do you have for young, queer authors (such as myself) who want to write YA books with queer characters?(: (Also, I finished "We Are the Ants" pretty recently, and it's amazing. Only two books, before this one, have gotten me hooked onto a book with the first sentence, but yours is now on that list.)
