How was your job as a scientist before you started reading? I am torn between enginnering and physics as far as enrolling in college goes and I am very curious about how is it to work for big agencies and, as you said yourself, working on "rocket science"?

I didn't have a job as scientist before I started reading :D
Or, indeed, before I started writing. I did have a job as a scientist for 20 years before I was published, and kept it until I sold my first million or so books.
I enjoyed research and I was good at it. I generally worked on theory, with minor contact with actual systems and sensors.
Physics and engineering are very different disciplines - I can't advise you on a choice as it will depend on your preferences. Engineering provides concrete, solvable problems that often need a quick answer. You see the products of your labour. Physics tackles fundamental problems, progress is slow and uncertain, but you feel it is "important".
Good luck!

Re: Your review of "Wizard and Glass"? Not really a question I very much liked your review of it which I'm listen to as an audio-book. You gave me some valuable insight into why I am so ambivalent. I find I'm struggling to "pay attention" and enjoy this book. I have to admit to struggling with a tendency to be "a Roland", while recognizing the virtue of being "an Oy". Thank you, for your enlightening review!
