Lynette Browning-brock We know who did it to her: it was Beatrice Sparks, who needed a downer ending for the novel.
Samv It was written by a woman trying to deter kids from becoming involved with drugs and substance abuse. She killed Alice to scare the readers, hoping that they see even after Alice's life has gotten better, she ends up dying anyways. Why?

Did she catch AIDS? Was she murdered by a bitter friend from the past? Did she lose her mind and kill herself? Was it suicide? Did the drugs do some kind of long term damage? Alice's death was left so ambiguous we were forced to imagine all of the scary ways she might have died because of her experience with drugs.

This is the book definitely kept me away from recreational drugs, and I don't think that's a bad thing. Personally, I think this is the correct answer.

Dea It's a fiction, like the rest of the book. Beatrice Sparks wrote other fake books. One of them has some true parts with lots of fiction added; this one is all faked.

Lindsey Park i think someone did it.
Erin I really doubt it was murder or anything like that. She basically cut off all contact that she could with the toxic people that were in her life. Logically, it was probably an overdose. I'm not sure if it was intentional, such as suicide, or if she spiraled back into her drug addiction. Either one would make sense, as they would connect to the rest of the book.
Stephanie I think honestly Marcie/Jan someone somehow gave her something and she overdosed or maybe killed herself or something. There was too much bad blood at the end for me to think it was of her own free will.
Bengü I really upsed for her but i can't stop myself to someone did it to her
