Angelina asked this question about Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass, #4):
AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO SHIPS ROWAN AND CALEANA TOGETHER SO MUCH

I never seen the attractiveness, the liking, or the potential in him for relationship/romance/intimacy. I never seen Chaol and Caleana being fit as a couple, or a pairing. I felt like they clashed too much, and I especially didn't like it that he loved Caleana, but never accepted her Aelin part of her identity. If you love someone, you need to accept ALL OR NONE, which includes the faults, flaws, imperfections. You can't have one without the other. it doesn't work like that at all realistically. I always thought that Caleana should have just stayed friends with Chaol. I was shipping for Dorian at first in the first book, but he quickly fell in love with the maid in HoF, the minute that Caleana left and had no time to miss her, so I stopped shipping him because of his immaturity and being impulsive and not being patient. But, with Dorian being a fae, having the powers that are opposite of Caleana, wanting to stop and have power over his father, and make the world better, he can definitely be a great ally/alliance to Caleana when he's King of Adarlan and she's Queen of Terrasen. As for Rowan, I had a feeling that a hard ass like himself had a reason for being one, and had a soft interior/sensitive side. His reason was understandable which was being a slave/brain-washed monkey to the Queen of the Fae, Caleana's aunt, and for the decades of torture. He has just as many scars and wounds just like Caleana does, and they both realized that they are more the same than different. Their powers complete each other, and he pushed her to the limit, trained her to be stronger physically/mentally/emotionally, and she finally knew how to unlock her powers and be proud and not ashamed of herself, her name, her title, her upbringing, her royalty, her roots, and her fae heritage. And Caleana because of Rowan can finally reclaim herself as Aelin once more, alas. Fire & Ice make a great match, couple, and unbeatable team. I really hope that Caleana in the next book will make the right choice in choosing Rowan over the other suitors, because the chemistry is everywhere and Rowan unlike the other idiots is an actual man who knows hardship, fighting for something/someone, protecting your kin, and destroying all that gets in the way. <3 (less)
