Hello Rebecca! I finished reading The Queen's Resistance and I absolutely adored it <3 It's a book I have been looking forward to reading ever since I devoured The Queen's Rising XD I loved the theme of family and adoption in your books! Of the new characters introduced in The Queen's Resistance, my favs were Ewan and Keela! What inspired you to create them?

(view spoiler)[Hi! Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed both books. :)
And I love that you connected with Ewan and Keela. It's actually very interesting how they both came about. Ewan was a complete surprise character. When Cartier returns home and is kneeling in his castle courtyard, pulling up weeds, I realized someone was hiding in the castle. And I discovered who it was alongside Cartier. At first, Ewan was going to be an orphan who Cartier takes as a ward, but then I realized that Ewan also had a secret, and I wanted to connect him to the heart of the challenges that were to come with the Lannons. In addition, I knew Ewan needed something or someone to draw him back to the city for the trial, and so Keela was inspired. I also wanted Brienna to befriend a younger girl who she could take under her wing and help mentor. A girl who Brienna could see herself in.
There was a scene in an earlier draft of THE QUEEN'S RESISTANCE toward the end of the book that shows how Keela becomes Brienna's first arden of knowledge. Which I simply loved and was really sad it had to be cut due to pacing and word count. But I wanted it to be a moment of hope and progression, for both Keela as an individual and Maevana as a whole. Rebecca Ross:
Hi Rebecca! With a friend can't agree on the following: he says that everything that happens in your story is on another planet, 'cause geography doesn't fit with ours. Instead, I say it is on Earth, but only that it's fantasy, so it is like a parallel world, and that I find his theory absurd. I told him I would ask you and we are anxiously waiting for you to solve our doubt. Can you? Hahaha.
