I read mostly middle grade and YA books because of my work as a specialized arts educator (I teach a lot of creative writing and art classes to tweens and teens). Some of the book I read this summer include Mya's Strategy to Save the World, Embrace the Chicken, Cub, This Time Will be Different, and The Serpent's Secret. All highly recommended!
