Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Katherine Macdonald I have always loved the story of Beauty and the Beast, and have read or watched almost every retelling I could find. But still every version I devoured had at least one of the two following flaws: the Beast imprisons Beauty (not a great start to a relationship) and/or their romance moved to quickly to be believable. I wanted to eradicate both of these issues, but was eventually inspired by a dream I had, of a deserted castle in a field of flowers, and a pale face in a mirror...
