Which is stronger, the demon king or erick? By that I mean if the two went head to head in a soul battle like in book 7 with no outside influence who would win? I ask because I always got the impression that the demon king both hated and feared Erick and that was why it always used either a trap or the element of surprise when facing him.

Garon Whited Nobody knows.
Eric certainly doesn't know how strong the Demon King is, and the Demon King knows it started life as a copy. As far as the Demon King is concerned, it's too close to a fair fight.

Are we ever going to see Erik try and fill in the gaps in his knowledge base? He keeps running into problems he can't solve correctly because he is not an MD, chemist, engineer, or what have you but he has almost unlimited time an resources now. Why doesn't he hop over to a fast paced Earth iteration and go back to college? He could get all the Doctorates.
