Dear Mrs. Dessen, In your book, THIS LULLABY, Remy's mother is an author. Were you creating Remy's mother's character based on yourself or maybe someone else?

I was definitely having some trouble with my writing when I began This Lullaby, and the character of Barbara helped me to kind of coax myself along. When she was struggling, I was, too! Remy's cheerleading of her process was a way of encouraging myself, as well.
