I'm not sure when, or if, Joe will be back. When I created his character 15 years ago, I gave him early onset Parkinson's because of the tragic irony of seeing someone with a brilliant mind, but a crumbling body. Since then I've aged him in real time and the disease has progressed. There is a limit to how long he can keep going and still be true to the disease. For his sake - but much more importantly for all those real sufferers - I am hoping for a cure.

I recently finished The Secrets She Keeps, and I found a video clip where you share that your inspiration for the plot came from a 1991 news story you reported on, as a journalist in the UK. You didn't want to disclose more detail than that, to avoid spoilers. But can you share a link to the article (if it's archived online) or title/source/date (if it's not)--for readers who have completed the book and are curious?
