asked:
Is this significantly different enough from the movie to warrant a read? I loved the movie. I try not to consume things twice to make time for all the other stuff I want to read. Thank you, and have a great day!

I wouldn't say it's significantly different. The movie makes use of some clever narrative shortcuts (as most book-to-movie adaptations do); they don't change the structure of the story, but there is one that qualifies as a bona fide "plot twist".
Generally, I would say the primary reason to watch the movie would be the animation technique (interpolated rotoscope). It's a trip to watch... as it should be, given the story.
I'd say watch it.
