Goodreads asked Steven Partridge:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Steven Partridge Writer's block is really challenging. I find that by cultivating a writing routine, I have been able to train my brain to "activate writer mode." I do the following:

-Firstly, I always write in the same space, which I have designated as my own. I keep it clean and organized, and I surround myself with nerdly things I love, including a few books for helpful "distraction breaks."

-I have a "do not disturb" code for my door, so my housemates can respect my process and not disturb me.

-Wearing comfortable clothing is essential.

-Music is a must. Whatever mood I'm writing a scene for, I play music that matches the atmosphere.

-I make sure to have a beverage and a (healthy) snack handy. Celery and peanut butter is a staple for me.

While I could continue my list, I'm sure you get the gist (rhyme unintentional, there). Find something that works for you. Figure out what routines help you to "get in the zone."
