I just started reading your books and I love them. I have two questions. Question #1: Are some of the books you write based on your personal experiences or based on loved ones? Question #2: Will you be coming to Canada soon (Ottawa, hint hint lol), I would love to be able to meet you in person. Anne Marie, I'm so glad you're enjoying my books. #1 I rarely write from my own personal experience. My life just isn't that interesting! Necessary Lies, however, is based on historical fact, so although it's not the story of anyone in particular, I did borrow from the collective experience of the people and social workers involved in North Carolina's eugenics program. #2 I doubt I will make it to Canada any time soon, sorry. I do love connecting online with my readers. Writing is a lonely business, and I love having that give and take with people.

After so many novels, how do you continue to come up with such unique and captivating story lines? Especially ones that leave the reader asking so many questions. I just finished with The Silent Sister and continue to place myself in both Lisa's and Riley's position, wondering what I would do.

Hi, I am a massive fan of your books. I only started reading them this year and am obsessed. Each one draws you in. Its hard to have a favourite ( loved cee cee wilkes and the midwife's confession).Where do you get your inspiration for your stories? They each are so different.
