Having an extended series of novels with a recurring cast must be a challenge. Knowing what details and descriptions to reiterate, what to leave out; which character to bring forward or drop back - or even take out forever. It’s something I’m facing with a sequel to my first novel. How are you making that decision with each new Inspector Lynley mystery?

It's difficult. You have to decide how much the new reader actually needs to know and then balance that with what the continuing reader already knwos. It's a delicate dance.
