Jason asked Tony Corden:

I bought your books, but I do Kindle Unlimited too and notice first two are purchase only. Hard to expand reader base that way. Reason?

Tony Corden Hi Jason, when I first started, (and after quite a bit of research) I thought it would be good to have a large number of outlets and loaded the two books I'd finished onto several other sites besides the Kindle store. Only books which are exclusive to Kindle are eligible for Kindle Unlimited. By the time I'd discovered that most of the readership was through Amazon, I'd been asked to participate in several bundles. These bundles were offered on a range of platforms and have run until the end of this month. In the meantime, Kindle Unlimited snagged a large share of the market, and the bundles sold almost nothing. I've pulled the first two books from the other sellers (platforms), and once the bundle offers end, I will change the setting so they can also be read in Kindle Unlimited. I'm not entirely thrilled with helping a monopoly, but the royalty on books in Kindle Unlimited is more than double those that aren't. Even if it wasn't better for readers, it is the only financially viable option if I want to write full time one day. Both books will be in Kindle Unlimited in early August.

I hope that explains what happened.

Tony
