Remy asked Brad Taylor:

I'm headed to next series: Enemy of Mine. are these scenarios based on your personal experience in the military? To me, it's so real and pages 284-286 are Pike & Jennifer confrontation about the morality of their work.

Brad Taylor Thank you for the praise! Glad you're enjoying the series. As for your question, there is nothing in my books that I have directly participated in. I'm not "changing names" and writing about real world events, because most of those were classified. Having said that, yes, of course my personal experience comes into play. It would be impossible not to. If someone were going to write a scene about learning to ride a bike, what would they do? They'd think about what it was like for them to ride a bike. It's no different for me. When I'm writing a fictional scene about a counter-terrorist hit in Germany I can't help but think of my past experiences to craft the story to the best I can. And yes, that does include the discussion of the morality of the work. Thanks again!
