Write something; anything. I once wrote a selection of silly tales based on ghosts, and a couple of those actually made it into my first book (for the character of 'Rusty' Pembroke). Writing such things can really help with inspiration. Also make sure you read a lot, and don't be afraid to watch your favourite Netflix shows now and again. Inspiration can come from other creators when you're out of ideas.
