Goodreads asked Rie Anders:

How do you get inspired to write?

Rie Anders That’s a funny question! Most days start the same, coffee, twitter, emails, walk….but after that? It’s hit or miss. I always carry a notebook and a voice recorder with me so I can capture scenes or new storylines. I am also quite manic in that I call my friends and family to dump ideas on, hoping for validation that it is good, and if not, at least the idea no longer takes up space in my brain. Some days I have the story flowing effortlessly, and I can type out 2000 words, easy. Other days, I am easily distracted by laundry, or Netflix series, or quite suddenly a very strong desire to paint a room in my house. These are all diversion tactics and on those days, I am lucky if I get out 500 words. When I find myself stuck, I listen to music; country, pop, dance, indie, and I wait for inspiration.
