Do you base your character's character by someone who in real life or make their attitude up completely?

Shannon Messenger Honestly I don't know where my character's personalities come from. They sort of take on lives of their own in my head and most of the time I don't even feel like I'm writing them so much as I am recording them (and yes, I do realize how bizarre that sounds. Writing is a crazy process).

I do know that I never intentionally base them on people I know, though. Mostly because that seems like a very good way to get friends and family mad at me, especially since I'm very good at letting bad things happen to my characters. :)

Dear Shannon, I wanted to say before anything that your series Keeper of the lost cities is amazing and nothing was disappointing in those books at all, in fact they were were really perfect. I loved the ending of the last book and was literally screaming in my head because it was just such a cliffhanger yet not.? Nevermind.
