Alex Robins asked Django Wexler:

Hi there Django. I was wondering if you had any film recommendations thematically similar to your Shadow Campaign books? I've been thinking of some of the colonial films like The Patriot, Last of the Mohicans or Glory, and some of the older stuff like The Charge of the Light Brigade, Waterloo, Lawrence of Arabia or Zulu. Anything more obscure that inspired you? Keep up the good work!

Django Wexler It's tough, because filming something like that generally involves big, expensive battle scenes, so there aren't that many! You've got a lot of what I would recommend -- the Gettysburg movie also does a pretty good job. Waterloo in particular has some amazing battle stuff, although I don't know that it's a good movie overall.

Anything based on Dumas is fairly close, too -- Three Musketeers or Count of Monte Cristo have gone through a bunch of different versions, some better than others.
