Gail No, no, no! There's too much content that a child should not and could not understand. Why would a child need to read of the step by step systematic "removal" of a young woman's virginity which she couldn't wait to be rid of? However, bravo to any ten year old who'd read a 470 page book. Get her going on the whole ANNE OF GREEN GABLES series and let her be a child.
Chantal Hellll no! I don't even know that I could recommend it to my mother and she's older than I am!
Marsha NO! Let’s preserve some sense of innocence in a ten year old!
Judy Lindow Haha. I've only read one glorious chapter, I taught preK-6th in my 2nd career, AND I CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE why you asked that. You can check out some good books on the ALA site where the Newbery and Caldecott award books are listed for Young Adult (YA) and picture books.
Reid 13 at the very youngest, and she would have to be pretty sophisticated about sexual things, not to mention the ways in which humans can be very cruel and heartless to one another.
PennsyLady (Bev) Definitely not!
Debrah Roemisch I am not usually one to limit what kids read--I figure if they are capable and interested go ahead(I was that kind of kid) but no this is really not suitable for a 10 yr old.
Joseph Nakonechny No, there is a lot of sex and drugs.
Donna McComas No-definitely not for children. There are plenty of wonderful books for a ten year old, but this is an adult read.

Liz Germany In my opinion, no. This book is geared to adults, adult language, situations and explicit sex.
Samara Klein Hahaha. No! This may be called City of Girls, but those girls are having lots of lots and lots of casual sex with City of Boys. Great book though.
Jules No. The book deals with adult themes and adult experience. The book is about finding your true self on life's journey so I don't think that a 10 year old would have the sensitivity to understand all that the writer portrays. I agree that the sexual descriptions would also make this book hugely inappropriate. It's certainly not a book for a child.
Susie No, but certainly an 18 year old
Elisabeth Parkinson Pls tell me you were kidding, why would you ask such a thing.
Amy Absolutely NOT - it contains many controversial, sexual themes
Susan Engelhardt No

Leona Gardiner No! So many great books available for girls this age! Don't miss out on well written fiction for kids this age. As a librarian it always made me sad when kids thought they should choose the thickest book written for older people!
Ms Lee No, no, no. Read the book.
Donna Lindsay Why would you even ask this question? Can you be serious, or are you just looking to get everyone all excited?
Nicole D. LOL ...almost hard to imagine anything more inappropriate
Jen NO WAY!!!!!! definitely not!
R. Cleveland Absolutely not.
Mo Good Heavens, no!
Ramona NO!!! Vivian relates too many graphic sexual encounters. Not to mention the drinking and party life she leads.
