I've been fortunate to avoid this dreaded writer's affliction, and the reason is this: I do a lot of processing in my head before I sit down to write. Walking is a great activity for getting the creative juices going, and having a dog forces me to walk even when I otherwise don't want to. So I guess one solution to writer's block is to get a dog!
