Goodreads asked William Sharp:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

William Sharp When I reach a point in a story where I don't know where to take the story next, or how to resolve a specific problem with the plot or continuity, I make it a habit to think briefly about it periodically during the day and at night before going to sleep. My subconscious must work on it, because after a few to several days my mind will arrive at the solution, and I immediately jot down the needed notes so I can work out the details later.
