Eileen
Eileen asked Linwood Barclay:

Typing and Latin, after reading, of course, are the skills I learned in school and continued to use constantly throughout my life. So I found "A Noise Downstairs" to be fun, familiar and frustrating. I was suspicious of the perpetrators from early on, but was impressed with how it was all carried off. In short, I liked this book. The use of the typed headers was clever. Did you have input on the design?

Linwood Barclay I had suggested using a type font somewhere, but I think my publisher was already thinking along those lines. And I wanted something that evoked typewriters on the cover and I think they did a nice job of that. (On the hardcover, but less so on the US paperback -- not sure which edition you read.) Thanks for the kind words.
