Hello, first of all I just wanted to say that I really love your Hamish, the first book I've read about your detective was #24 then luckily I found #22. second ly; I really love the way you made your detective, bit rude but ultimately fascinating (for me anyways) lastly; just wanted to ask when you write your crimes for Hamish Macbeth how exactly do you come up with it? M.C. Beaton I sell the plot in advance with the main crime and then all the other just evolve as the book goes on.

Did you write Death of a Scriptwriter in response to the televised series Hamish? Although I enjoyed the series, Hamish was unrecognizable and I thought they took great liberties with your characters..
