Not a question, just remarking: In the middle of listening to (and thoroughly enjoying) "The Paris Diversion", I've just written a review of Kate Atkinson's new novel, "Big Sky", and went trolling through GoodReads, trying to come up with a tagline for the review--and came upon your review/comments. Not "an explanation waiting to happen," of course, but an amusing coincidence, nonetheless. (obligatory ?)

You have created many adventurous, charismatic, and expressive characters. I had the pleasure of meeting of you a few years ago, and you seemed more on the laid-back, introverted spectrum. Do you like to create characters who differ from you? Or are you more like your characters than I was able to assess during a 2-minute encounter?
