Why are there 8 jurors in this trial and not the customary 12?

Robert Rotstein Thank you for the excellent question. The United States Supreme Court has held that in criminal trials a minimum of six jurors is constitutional. States vary in the number of jurors. Although twelve are, as you say, traditional, from a writing standpoint eight allowed me to go into more depth as to each juror. Thank you again!
