fruitofsolitude asked Colleen Hoover:

Do you ever cry while you're writing the heartbreaking scenes you write? If so, how hard do you cry?

Colleen Hoover I very rarely cry. Contrary to what people might think based on the subject matter of my stories, I am actually not an emotional person. I'm also not very romantic at all. It takes a lot for me to "feel" things, so I think the reason why my books make a lot of people cry is BECAUSE I'm kind of hard inside. So I write until I kind of sort of feel something sad inside of me, which takes a lot to get there. All the time I release books and tell readers, "Don't worry, this one isn't sad," and then I read all these reviews of people saying they cried and I'm confused because I never felt sad writing the book.
I might be a little dead inside.
