Hi Juliet, I loved your Sevenwaters series and even recommend it to my non-fantasy-reading friends. One question: how do you pronounce your last name? I'd like to know how to say it correctly when I talk you up!

Juliet Marillier Hi Nichelle. It's a French name, so the correct pronunciation would be something like mah-ree-yay. However this part of the family (based in either Australia or New Zealand) pronounces it English-style: ma-RILL-ee-er. It's my ex-partner's surname, and his family has not lived in France for many generations.
