I know some author's don't like giving release dates too soon because they often find that reality and their projections aren't compatible. The weather man often has that problem too and it doesn't stop him. So, have you considered just putting up a percentage bar on your website so we can know your progress without asking? As someone who checks quite a few authors regularly, I find that no news is worse then bad news

Tony Corden I have considered it, but I suspect it would add pressure to something which I simply enjoy doing. I recently spent the week after Easter at the beach north of where I live in Queensland, Australia. I had a week's leave from my day job, one of my new grand-daughters staying with my wife and I (her mum and dad came also) and the freedom to work on the next book. It was a great week, and I didn't feel pressured in any way. My wife also keeps saying not to even vaguely hint at dates because she knows I find that a pressure.

Having said that I do read a lot as well and I like knowing how things are progressing. So,..., if I can keep to the length I think it will be then I'm 89.3% finished. I still need to send it to the people who've been editing it, but I'll send them the first half early next week when I do my review. I don't have a date yet but my day job has asked me to take some more leave because I've too much accrued. With two weeks holiday soon I'm hoping to be into the next book before they are done.
